About

The General Course in Philosophy has been taught in the College since its earliest days. The aim of philosophy is to arrive at a rational conception of life and universe as a whole and to seek their ultimate value and significance. Philosophy is the science of all sciences. The general degree course syllabus has been framed in such a way which will certainly help the students to arrive at a conceptual understanding of the subject both by western thinkers and the Indian thinkers.

• During the two years of pandemic and lockdown, when all educational institutions were closed, all our classes were conducted online. Students as well as the teachers adapted themselves to this digital mode of teaching and learning process successfully. The Covid-19 pandemic couldn’t dampen the spirit of the teachers and learners who strived together in this difficult time to respond to all the challenges which the entire world was battling.
• Book launch of Sriparna Dasgupta on 2nd February 2022. The book is titled as, “Organ Donation: 'An Ethical Enquiry'. The book highlights the significance of donating organs which is considered to be one of the finest gestures of humanity. The main objective is to remove the myths and misconceptions and encourage society to come forward and pledge their organs after death, especially if it is a case of brain death where there is no chance of revival.
