Minority Cell

Minority Cell:
The college is committed to provide an environment that promotes diversity and respects everyone regardless of colour, religious belief or cultures. The Minority Cell of the College was formed with the purpose of empowering the students belonging to minority communities including Buddhist, Christian, Jain, Muslim, Sikh etc. The Cell helps minority students in their overall academic development, facilitates financial support through government scholarships, provides assistance to them in any college related issues faced by them.

Overall Functions

  • Enhance equal opportunities for education of minorities.
  • Facilitate financial support to students from minority communities from governmental agencies and other sources including scholarships
  • Ensure provisions for an environment where all such students feel safe and secure.
  • Provide prompt counselling for any emotional emergencies arising on account of any event at the campus.
  • To communicate with the students and motivate them for better future planning.

Special Lecture by Dr Amit Dey, Professor, University of Calcutta on “Christianity and Judaism Under Islam” on 17th April 2019, organized by the Department of History in collaboration with SC/ST/OBC Cell of the College.

One Day Seminar
One day seminar on “Islamic Pluralism; Relation With Christianity And Judaism In Medieval World” on 13th May, 2019 organized by Department of History in collaboration with the Minority Cell of the College.
